Terms of Service
Effective date: July 13, 2026
By using ExpenseKeeper (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
ExpenseKeeper is a personal expense-tracking tool that reads from and writes to a Google Sheet stored in your own Google Drive. The Service stores none of your data itself; it acts only as an interface between you and your spreadsheet.
2. Your data, your responsibility
- All data you create with the Service lives in your Google Drive. You are the sole owner of, and solely responsible for, that spreadsheet, including backing it up and controlling who can access it.
- If you edit, move, share, or delete the spreadsheet (or rows within it) outside the app, the Service may behave unexpectedly or stop working. ExpenseKeeper is not responsible for data loss or corruption, however caused.
- Your use of Google Drive and Google Sheets is governed by Google’s own terms of service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal expense tracking and not to attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse the security of, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
4. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement. ExpenseKeeper does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any figures, summaries, or reports it produces are accurate or complete.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExpenseKeeper and its creator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, financial losses, or decisions made in reliance on information shown by the Service, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the Service stores no user data, any loss of data in your Google Drive is outside ExpenseKeeper’s control and responsibility. Your sole and exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using it.
6. Not financial advice
The Service is a record-keeping tool. Nothing it displays, including summaries, budgets, charts, and reports, constitutes financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice.
7. Changes and termination
The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice or liability. These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Because your data lives in your own Google Drive, discontinuation of the Service never takes your data with it.
